When should you go to Le Crotoy?

If you're looking for a holiday in Le Crotoy, we advise you to go in July and August, when the weather is particularly pleasant (sunshine and temperatures). April, May and September offer mild temperatures and are much less crowded than the summer months. Hotels and campsites are also cheaper during this period.

Are you a fan of green tourism ? We suggest you plan your stay in Le Crotoy during the migration periods, a fascinating experience for birdwatchers. From spring to late summer, the first migratory birds arrive in the Baie de Somme and the nesting season is in full swing. In September, October and November, other migrants stop off in the Marquenterre nature reserve, before continuing on their way south.

As far as the climate is concerned, Le Crotoy enjoys an oceanic climate thanks to its proximity to the English Channel, with cool summers and mild winters. The amount of sunshine is comparable to that of the Côte d'Azur (2400 hours a year). The months with the most rainfall are October, November and December.

That's what makes our resort so unique...

Le Crotoy, the spearhead of this estuary, is listed in the Club of the World's Most Beautiful Bays, along with San Francisco, Rio and Mont-Saint-Michel, and has a well-known and exclusive feature: it's the only beach in the north facing due south! And to add to its uniqueness, the town's history is closely linked to that of the famous people who have stayed here: Jules Verne, Georges Seurat, Alfred Sisley, Colette and Pierre Guerlain.
