Bay of Somme

Take a break and have mellow holidays in the Bay of Somme! Listed as a UNESCO heritage site, it is also one of the most famous bays in the world. Its rich heritage and landscapes diversity make it a place worth visiting.

70 km/square and protected by the network "Natura 2000", the Bay of the Somme is part of the superb sites labelled "Grand Site de France" since 2011. You will find activities for everyone : Wildlife and history lovers, or adventurers of all kind.

A wide range of maritime and land activities are available to you : The crossing of the bay with a guide is a must, without forgetting fishing on foot, water sports, sand yachting, observation of seals at the tip of Houdel near Cayeux sur Mer. Hiking, horse riding or cycling will take you to discover ports like Le Crotoy next to our Camping La Prairie or Saint Valéry sur Somme 15 kms away. You can also discover the bay of the Somme by train: The railway links the Crotoy to Saint Valery sur Somme to Cayeux sur Mer. Nature lovers will not be disappointed by visiting the Parc Ornithologique du Marquenterre between Le Crotoy and Fort Mahon Plage.

The abbey of Valloires and its gardens are also part of the places to visit a little higher in Bay of Authie near Quend.
